Faith When God Feels Hidden
Day 1: The Courage to Seek
Reading: Job 23:1-5
Devotional: Job does not walk away from God when life falls apart. He walks toward him. That distinction matters more than we often realize. Searching for God in the middle of suffering is not a sign of weak faith. It is one of the purest expressions of it. People who have truly surrendered to God do not abandon the search when the silence grows heavy. They press harder. If you find yourself crying out to God today, understand that the cry itself is evidence of your faith. The ache of longing for God is not doubt. It is devotion in its rawest form.

He is working with the precision and intentionality of a master craftsman. The furnace is not proof of his absence. It is evidence of his investment in who you are becoming. Your pain has a purpose even when that purpose remains unseen.

Paul builds on this truth by declaring that nothing in all of creation has the power to separate us from the love of God. Not suffering, not confusion, not silence, not darkness. The lighthouse does not remove the fog. It pierces it. You may not see everything clearly today, but you can see enough of God's character to keep trusting him. That is sufficient. That has always been sufficient.
Reflection: What would it look like this week to pray honestly: "I do not see you, I do not understand, but I choose to trust you"?

I was intrigued by your metaphor, God as a lost tv remote.
nThe remote is missing; the channel does not change when we press the air. Prayer meets no reply. Suffering continues without explanation. The world keeps running on its own indifferent logic.
nThis is not merely “atheism.” It is the experience that even if God once spoke, the speaking has stopped—or was never addressed to us in the first place. The result is a peculiar loneliness: not the loneliness of being alone among people, but of being alone in a cosmos that no longer feels addressed by anything higher.
Right now I’m running toward God but I’ve certainly had my seasons of running away from him.Here’s what I’ve learned;you can run but you can’t hide.In fact when you decide to run back He’s ready and waiting to show you that he still cares and is always listening.And I am today always aware that he is in control of all creation in all circumstances!
Sometimes our Family’s problems make us wonder why they go through such difficulties when we know they are faithful to God. I think He tests our steadfastness so we WILL remember His grace and mercy that we’ve already received. Be thankful in prayer for small blessings. Look for God’s comfort and presence in your humility and grief because He is always right there with you. We specifically thank Him for Abi being safe at home to pursue her studies and join her very active worship team.
I’m trying to obey God’s will for me but it’s just not always clear.Things don’t always work out and I wonder if I’m doing something wrong.Job reminds me to be patient and keep praying;maybe God is testing my resolve to truly do his will and not mine.
