At Home Mission Project

3/15/2020

Extended Care facilities are closed to visitors - so our friends at Walnut Woods and Chestnut Knoll are unable to see their families. Plus the staff there are working hard during an anxious time in our communities. If your kids are stuck at home you can have them draw pictures or make cards and send them to the residents, or they can send cards to thank the staff for their hard work. If you aren't into drawing or making the cards you can send some extra cards you have stowed away. Make sure you put note in to let the staff know to pass along the cards and drawings to any residents having a hard time being isolated from their families. You can sign it from your first name and write "Your friends from Good Shepherd UCC are praying for you."

Please send Pastor Kim pics, especially if you do these projects with your kids at home. I'm hoping to put together a project of all the ways we continue to be the church while we are socially distancing.

COVID-19 Announcement

3/14/2020

Members and Friends of Good Shepherd,

In an effort to keep everyone healthy and be part of the solution that stops the potential spread of COVID-19 further into our communities, all events and activities at Good Shepherd will be canceled until March 30th. Of course, as this situation develops, we may need to stay closed longer.

Please stay updated with what's happening on facebook, on the church website, via email, or calling the church office. At the present moment we plan to have someone in the office able to answer the phone during regular office hours as well as having staff working from home.

This Sunday March 15th Pastor Matt and Pastor Kim will be at Good Shepherd from 7:45 am to 11:30 am if you need prayer, if you'd like to pick up a bulletin, or need to speak with one of us. Please only come to if you are feeling well. There will be no formal worship service.

Moving forward worship on Sundays will be streamed live online (more details forthcoming). In addition we will be emailing, posting, and snail-

mailing resources for personal Lent studies, resources for children and youth, and more. Furthermore Pastor Matt and Pastor Kim will have prayer and gathering times online through resources like Zoom and Google Hangouts as well as posting videos just to check in.

Pastor Matt and Pastor Kim also continue to be available for pastoral care needs. We are here to listen and talk and be present with you during an anxious time. You can email either of us (pastormatt@gsuccboyertown.org OR pastorkim@gsuccboyertown.org) or you can call the church office for our cell phone numbers (610-367-2842).

We will also be making options available for online giving.

Whether we meet in person or not we still continue to be the Good Shepherd community and Christ's church. Reach out to one another online or the phone. We can care for one another from afar and continue to be the church, so when we return to worship together in person we can share our joy knowing we've felt God's presence and each other's presence even in the midst of our social distancing.

"For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8: 38-39
